Braces can turn a flawed smile into one that is beautiful. It may be frustrating to wear braces at first, but the end result will be worth it. If you have braces, or if you have a child with braces, you need to take special care of your teeth. You need to make sure that they stay clean. A New Routine You will need a new daily routine with braces. You will need to make sure that your brush after each meal, no exceptions. Take your time while brushing, and make sure that each tooth gets cleaned. Brush one tooth at a time and give each one several seconds. A little extra care now will make a difference later. Flossing is also important. If you do not already floss at least twice a day, you will need to start after you have braces. You will also want to use mouthwash with fluoride. That will help to reach any places that you might have missed. If you do not already own an electric toothbrush, you might want to purchase one. This will make it much easier to reach spots that you might miss on your own. Eating with BracesIt is best to brush your teeth after you eat, but if you cannot, make sure that you rinse out your mouth. Also, what you eat will make a difference. Foods that are high in sugar or that will stick to your teeth should be avoided. Stay away from high sugar drinks as well.It will not take long until you become an expert on keeping your teeth clean with braces. The same is true if it is your child who has them.
