Have you ever had an ear ache? It's pretty painful. Ear aches are no fun and can be caused due to a number of reasons, such as an ear infection or sinus issues. You may also develop an ear ache due to tooth pain. Teeth are located in the jaw which is connected to the ears. Over time, a toothache can develop due to issues in the mouth, which can lead to pain in the ear on that side of your face. Having the tooth treated will alleviate the pain in your mouth as well as any ear pain. Tooth Related PainWhen a tooth is afflicted with an abscess or infection, you will feel pain. It may begin as a dull, painful feeling in the tooth, but as the issues gets worse, the pain will grow. You may begin to feel even more pain, especially when eating or drinking. The pain can radiate outward from the base of the issue, causing you to experience pain in the sinus cavity as well as in the ear. An official diagnosis of the pain is needed to ensure proper treatment. If you have an abscessed tooth, it will need to be treated as such. An infection would need to be treated with medication, etc. The right treatment will ensure you're no longer feel pain and the underlying issue will eventually go away. In the meantime, you can use over the counter pain medication to try and treat the pain until you can see your dentist. Treat yourself with the pain reliever and ice packs until you can visit the dentist and see what's going on. To learn more about how ear pain and teeth issues can be connected, give us a call today.
