Making Vegetables a Regular Snack Can Greatly Improve Your Oral Health

Having a good diet is important for oral health as well as overall physical health. Having good oral hygiene is a great way to start, but so is knowing what your teeth need to stay healthy and strong, so they can last as long as possible.

The truth is we know what oral health can do for you overall, and we want you to be healthy. We want you to be able to show off your smile, and feel good at the same time. You may be doing the right thing and not even know it. Here is some information about the foods you eat that are actually helping your teeth.

Veggies That Help Your Teeth

Your teeth are alive. They have nerves and blood vessels inside them that help distribute minerals and nutrients they need to stay healthy.

We all know sugars are not good for your teeth, so what do vegetables to for them? Leafy greens like kale and spinach are packed full of vitamins and minerals. They are high in calcium which is great for strengthening tooth enamel.

Carrots are loaded with fiber, and increase saliva production. Saliva is a natural cavity fighter. Celery, in a way, acts like your toothbrush. It is great for removing food particles in your mouth, and is a great source of vitamins A and C which is good for your gums.

Bell peppers and Broccoli have vitamin C. Eating crunchy vegetables increases saliva production. If you are not ready to fully change up your diet just try adding a few here and there.

We recommend that you get whatever information you can about foods that are good for you, and why. We are more than willing to go over diet changes with you. Eating foods that are good for your teeth is important to make sure you keep your teeth as long as possible.
